Magneto-Optical Imaging of Arbitrarily Distributed Defects in Welds under Combined Magnetic Field

Using the traditional magneto-optical detection methods, micro-weld defects parallel with magnetic field direction may be overlooked. In order to overcome this, a non-destructive testing method based on imaging under vertical combined (VCMF) is proposed. To demonstrate experimental results of weld excited by or (PCMF) are compared those fields (constant (CMF), alternating (AMF), and rotating (RMF)). It found that VCMF can accurately detect any shape distribution. addition, center difference used eliminate influence noise defect contour extraction images, active in images extracted. The show many noises identifiedby robustness level set method, operating low-pass filtering, so much information usually lost retained.
